Hi - has anybody played a Barnes & Mullins BM 650 'Salvino' mandolin, or the BM700 'Piercy'? At the price, these are probably Chinese workshop - 650 is F style F hole mahogany top+maple, 700 is F style round hole spruce top+maple, all solid. I have a few budget mandos like Kentucky 150 and Eastman 305 in view, and I'm wondering if these are worth adding to the list, but can't find any video or text reviews.

Generally, how about the effect of a solid mahogany top vs a spruce one on a maple sides and back f hole mandolin? I'm a bit concerned mahogany might be OK new but lose top end when it plays in. like some guitars.

Thanks, Max
