Default Proof that a mandolin and a ukulele made offspring together

Looks like a mandolin, sort of. Strung like a uke, I guess. The first question has to be WHY?

Why? Ah, yes, the eternal question. Well ... With four nylon strings, it's a ukulele. Its brand name is Mandolino; why the seller spells it "Mandolina" is anyone's guess. As to body shape ... Ukuleles come in many shapes and sizes, the most common shape resembling a guitar. Sure, this shape is mandolinesque, but that is the only similarity, other than that confusing brand name. I've had no luck finding the company on the web - too many false positives. At least it's not a banjolele. That's one example in which body shape DOES make a difference.

As I said before, ukuleles come in all sorts of shapes. Here's a pic of my duo on top of Mt. Cadillac, with Luna holding her watermelon uke. And in the lovely Miss Dagmar's kitchen, with her kiwi uke. One may say it's just the paint job, but the shapes make it happen.

You want to call it a pineapple, have at it. AFAIC, its only connection to a mandolin is the brand name, Mandolino, and unless someone can prove otherwise, that ain't no part of nothin'.
