Default Any way to identify this mandolin?

I recently inherited this mandolin that belonged to my great grandad. No one in my family has any information on it other than that they always remember him playing it.
I have been unable to find any identification numbers inside or outside. The only identifier is on the head. As you can see in the photos, this is not very readable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is a Kay from just after WW2. The model is most likely the K-73 which has maple back and sides and a spruce top and sold for about $33 in the very late 40s. Here is one on Reverb which still has the pickguard: https://reverb.com/item/4737747-kay-...rched-top-back
