    Default Apollo Picks !

Just received two new picks from Apollo ! Love them ! I have been a die hard user of Blue Chip picks and never found any picks to compare to them until I tried these Apollo ! I like the thinner picks better so I ordered Apollo shape D 1mm and shape b 1.25 mm . Great sound with a very clear sound and no noticeable pick clicking to my ears. Casein Apollo picks are next ! You should give these Apollo picks a try !

Hey Yankees1, the “b” shape would be my choice. Curious, how the “b” 1.25 mm sound compares to something like the Golden Gate round?

I have owned a Golden Gate but not a round. Didn't care for the GG I had compared to a BC but these Apollo are really good to my ears ! I just ordered Apollo Casein picks and I will report on these when I receive them !

I also bought a PEEK b 1.25mm—my favored BC is a TP50 and I wanted to have something similar to compare. I posted a brief report on another Apollo thread. I liked the Apollo but the bevel is a bit different than the BC I am used to. I plan to continue using the Apollo though. The tone is almost identical to what I get from my BC.

Did not get a bevel on my Apollo 1.25 but actually "I" can't tell any difference from bevel compared with non beveled . Trying to catch up with Garber on posts but at 74 years young I won't live long enough !!

I just received my Apollo "PEEK" pick today, style F 1.25 mm (although it actually comes in at 1.2). Over all I am quite impressed. The finish is very nice and the tone is click free. It sounds a lot better then the BC I have. When dropped on a table top it sounds more "glass like" for lack of a better term then my Primetone. Nik was a pleasure to deal with and very responsive to email.

I will be ordering another PEEK pick, slightly thicker, 1.4 or 1.5 in the near future as well as one of his Casein picks.

The only thing I wish is that the picks would have some sort of logo on them identifying them as "Apollo" picks. Nik is a one man operation so perhaps that would just add to the cost of production.

    Heya folks,

Thanks for the feedback. As a matter of fact, I have experimented with a few techniques (for putting my logo on the picks). And while I got a few passable results, nothing looks better to me than the unadorned pick. Since I do get this question from time to time, I'll take some time to gather my thoughts then write them down and post on the site under the FAQ section, here soon.

Dang! Into the rabbit hole I go! I just bought two: an H Casein 1.5 and a PEEK H 1.5, both with speed bevel. Will report when they come in!

PS: I also ordered a CT55 from Banjo Ben's site today. I got 10% off by signing up for his newsletter. Pretty much paid for my shipping. NFI but just FYI.

I also ordered a new Wegen and Golden Gate from Strings By Mail. Time for a pick shootout!

I got a PEEK shape D & E few days before. I am using a Red Bear shape E and D'ADDARIO CT signature pick also.
I felt Apollo's are more smoother picking than my caseins. As for the tone/sound are a bit quiet, But tone is clear and woody.
I compared them by 3 mandolins which owned.
