I'm going to guess it's a Waverly Cloud tailpiece like the one in the picture. The good news is that same tailpiece was used for decades by all of the manufacturers from Gibson to Martin to Harmony to Kay. Do you have the cover? There are slight differences in the size of the cover and base.

Best bet is to look on eBay under mandolin tailpieces and banjo tailpieces. They do show up from time to time. If you can get the cover and the base get them both. The other thing you could do would be to place an ad in the Classifieds Wanted section.

The other thing to do is to search for Kay and Harmony mandolins that have the tailpiece and cover cheap. Pull the tailpiece and replace it with a modern piece and resell the mandolin.

Some of us older guys hoard these things.

    Here's one on eBay.

Here is a base only. It may or may not fit your cover assuming you have one.

Here's another on that's pretty rusty.

Here's a cover only in rough shape. Things can be replated.

Here is another base without the cover.

They all look close, you could take a chance and see if it works. The size differences are small. The cover is generally the thing that is missing so you're better off if you have it.

Is that a mistake in the title to this thread? Did Gibson ever make an A-5 Junior?

Yes, it's a mistake but I think we can overlook that on a first post. I do wish they had made an A-5 Jr though.
