Ran across this on Reverb (NFI). It's different but I like it. I appreciate builders that go outside the box with their designs and this certainly does that. What do you folks think?

I'm digging it.
Well ... OK, you asked.
Generally, I gravitate toward designs in which form follows function. This sort of goes in a different direction - ie, more style than substance. Never mind the color scheme and/or pattern - which would be fine if it were played in a band whose stage costumes were similar or at least somewhat corresponding - but there eeem to be some functions missing. Only one pickup? No tone knob? Those are basic functionalities which seem lacking. But if you're looking for some pizazz, this has got that, a-plenty!
But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong. - Dennis Miller

Finders Keepers, my duo with the astoundingly talented and versatile Patti Rothberg. Our EP is finally done, and available! PM me, while they last!
Verne, there is something I love about that instrument.
It is kind of transgressive, in a totally unassertive way. Kind of like Pee-wee Herman robs a bank.
Nice.
I am definitely NOT the target market!
Still, I appreciate the idea.
Same builder's sold listings show some tenors that are even more "out there". Not very pricey, kind of tempting to get one just to experience it in person.
All the ones (that I have seen) have only a bridge pickup.
One pickup is fine - but only a bridge pickup?
Otherwise I really love them also.
The Reverb listing says you can reach out to him/her. Since this is a small builder I'd be included to send an email asking for things like a 21" scale, 2 pickups and more controls. Those are really details that aren't that difficult to add if they are open to it.
Makes me think of Rick Nielsen and his thousand stage guitars, from back in my rocker days:
I like that the builder is so open to customizations - if I lived in the States, I'd probably have a couple already. I think they're great, but then my electric tenor is finished in pink sparkle, so I guess I would.

There's another recent thread on the Cafe about this builder's instruments:

Kinda cool stuff. Not playing electric instruments these days, but I find myself drawn to the turquoise Googie inspired ones. 😹

Definitely a him - not sure why there was a doubt! As on the other thread - I'd love a bubble when i get back to the stage - but neck or mid pickups are my thing, not bridge
