Default Funny How Time Slips Away - Mandolin

I worked up several Willie Nelson numbers on mandolin earlier this year, Crazy, Funny How Time Slips Away, and Night Life. The intention was to play them in gigs with my guitar duo buddy, but our gigs got nixed about that time. Anyway, I worked up some solos mandolin versions to occupy myself. As an amateur, I lack a lot of polish, and this video I made back then shows that fact, plus I didn't spell check myself on the lyrics. But it is played very slowly, and gives an inkling of the ideas I've been using on working up a solo mandolin version. I posted this in the SAW social group when it was made, but today I'm posting to the forum at large because there's little else to do besides practice. Hope it might inspire others to do a better job with this great tune.

I like it, Mark. But I do hope that poor cat's time does not slip away.

A very enjoyable performance and arrangement, Mark. Willie had such an individual way with his phrasing in his songs, and you capture the flavour well here.

Really nice, Mark, you really have a great delivery of the song both instrumentally and vocally. Very enjoyable! Hope we get to meet up at Pagosa again sometime.

I am using this Willie Nelson classic for the second "mandolin song lesson" at my new website; I began adding it there about a month ago, and just finished it a few moments ago.
