Eastman 404...white top??
I came across this white-topped Eastman 404. It doesn't look like someone has removed the finish. And it has a pickguard reminiscent of an early Gibson on it. A one-off experiment from Eastman?

Strange. A 404 should have mahogany back and sides. Not maple. Maybe a custom run for a store? Or for a NAMM or similar show? The soundhole rosettes are also not standard.
Cool looking though.

Eric, the listing says mahogany although the image looks like maple.

It would have to be a real hoss for that money.

I think it looks great. Much nicer ring inlay. Like the inlayed pickguard. Should have been brown above the cross piece.

Listing says it ships from Japan; maybe this version is only made for the Japanese market.
