Gotcha. Yeah, it would be cool to have a Vulcan harp on which the knobs actually did produce a drone effect over which you could play a melody on the strings ... like having a tambura and a sitar in one instrument. No reason it couldn't be done (a lot of Carnatic musicians use electronic tamburas now, instead of making some poor musician sit in the corner and play a single note for 18 minutes).

I thoroughly agree. We are living in the future (in some respects). The technology is there, or should be. No, we still don't have jet packs or flying cars but this should be doable. And it doesn't have to be done with strings - the drone or that keyboard-like wash - though the melody should still be played on strings. It IS a harp, after all!

There have been a few waves of replica Vulcan harps, a few actually playable, most just for show. This matches one of the display types.

Sold for $147 plus the usually exaggerated postage.

So do pointy Vulcan ears have a different sense of sonorities? Or sororities? No inquiring minds care to know.

Yes - remember the "Space Hippies" episode (can't recall the real title) where sound was used as a weapon - Spock heard it first.

Just noticed: "This item cannot be shipped internationally." Wonder why? It's already traveled intergalactically.

You could host your own Vulcan Pon Farr party!

    Would last for 7 years!

Actually, pon farr only occurs once every 7 years. Gives them something to look forward to (Star Trek fan since the 1960s.)
