    Default Lakes of Pontchartrain

Here's my solo mandolin take on this Paul Brady classic (performed at altogether the wrong body of water): https://youtu.be/RE16cEcdGE0

    Cheers!

A beautiful tune, well played & sung, on a nice-sounding Martin, Corban. Just missing the gators!

    Nicely done! Thanks for posting.

Aston mic? Which one? Was that the only mic you used to record?

I thought the video would be taken by Lake Ponchartrain but as soon as the video starting playing I recognized immediately that it was Hawaii. In any case, I enjoyed your playing and singing. Thanks for sharing.

Chuck, Its an Aston Spirit! In the video you are hearing the mixed audio of the Spirit and the mic on the cell phone I used to film. I have found that blending those two (despite the vast disparity in audio quality) leads to a "fuller" sound. Also had to EQ the Aston a bunch because it picked up so much piercing shrillness from this particular mando.
