    Default New Andrew Marlin Album

Just wondering if anyone has checked out his new record. Fantastic, fantastic stuff. I glossed over his playing for a long time, but the more I listen to him the more impressed I am. He gets such clear tone-- and it isn't just a great instrument. It goes back as far as I can find recordings of him. I haven't done a really deep dive on it-- one of the tunes (Salter Path) I believe caught my ear pretty good and had me figure it out. But it's a beautiful album and worth everyone's attention.

Andrew’s playing and songwriting got me into the mandolin. He’s an under appreciated genius in my mind

Both of the new albums are moving and sublime. And the musicians he plays with clearly have exceptional bond. It really comes through in their playing

I'm another for whom Andrew's playing lit the fire in me to take up the mandolin. Nobody better, IMO.

And the new albums are fantastic...

Yeah it's really lovely. I didn't really get into Mandolin Orange, and this might be my gateway.

Kind of off topic, but has everyone seen this? He’s really an outstanding musician.

Yeah, both of his new instrumental albums are wonderful. I have been a big Mandolin Orange fan for years.

Love the tone of that old Gibson. It’s just perfect.

I've purchased a digital download a love the range and choices of the selections he's made. What a bargain at $10.

Both of the new albums are astoundingly good. "Buried in a Cape" was a great recording already, but these two move me even more deeply. That 10-minute opener on "Fable & Fire" is absolutely epic in mandolin terms. I'm sure everyone who likes the mandolin will like something from here: https://andrewmarlin.bandcamp.com/album/fable-fire
