Struggling with pinky plant
On mando pinky-plant isn't an issue, I use ye old wrist rest as needed and it's automatic and feels natural and free. But when I started tenor recently I had no rest so the pinky plant just happened naturally, but I think it's holding me back pretty badly.
I can do faster passages on one or two strings fantastic with the pinky plant, but when crossing three or 4 strings the pinky just isn't long enough and it feels like I am playing a game of twister with my right hand.
So I started giving the no-plant method a try today, it sure feels freer, but the speed isn't there for the fast passages yet, if that comes, then I will be very happy.
Tips appreciated. :-)
