Hi all,
I've posted a new blog article about my latest find. I discovered two manuscripts with music for mandolin and orchestra (violin 1, 2, viola, basso, flutes 1&2, horns 1&2) from Ernest Krähmer, Vienna, ca. 1820. Though I found only circumstantial evidence it seems the music was written for Pietro Vimercati. It's for the Milanese/Lombard mandolin type.
Besides the usual article (this time very detailed, lots to talk about!) and the usual editions, I've also included audio samples taken from my music notation software. It might take us some time before we'll hear this music come alive with live musicians due to Covid-19, but at least now we have an idea of what it sounds like.
