I am very close to buying a new to me Mandolin, the fretboard is flat, your opinion on pro and cons of a flat board VS radius.

its one of those things that may or may not make a difference for you. for me, neck profile shapes are the big culprits for my playing issue. fretboard width and whether flat or with radius are not such an issue. Its one of those things you just have to try out and see for yourself. Some of these things may not appear immediate as a playing issue, sometimes for myself, it takes time to have an instrument in hand for a couple weeks before i know if its the instrument or just something i need/can adjust in my playing style.
i think this sort of thing, figuring out what really works for oneself or does not, is one of the main culprits why we see so many nice instruments in classifieds. if a person doesn't have an issue with say a neck profile(there are players out there that can pick up anything, any size, any shape, and play it perfect), there's no way they can comprehend others that do.

You could put up a poll, but my hunch from hanging around here is that most people would not mind either if the tone was there. BUT, if forced to pick would go for a slight, compound radius.
