    Default Ibanez 513 (Selmer/Maccaferri D-Hole)

    Hi

I noticed so far that these Models are not seen very often.
Therefore I'd like to share a few Pics before it's sold.

As so many others as well, I do not know very much about this Model:

    - pressed Solid Spruce Top
    - laminated Back and Sides (Maple)
    - Maple Neck and Rosewood Fretboard
    - Rosewood Bridge
    - Selmer-Style, Maccaferri-Designed D-Hole
    - Chrome Plated Tailpiece with Ibanez Logo
    - Chrome Plated Tuners
    - adjustable Truss Rod (Key is in the Case)

It does not have a Serial Number on the Label, must therefore be from the Lawsuit-Era.

The Former Owner was a Music Instrument Store-Employee and bought this approx. 40 Years ago in the early 80s.
The Owner started to learn to play it, but didn't get far or lost Interest so it stayed in it's Case most of the Time.

It has a loud and Full Sound with strong Bass. The Action is very low, it's an easy to play Instrument.
Noticeable is also the beautiful engraved Headstock Ornament right below the Brand Logo.
It's in almos as new pristine Shape, I would rate it as "New old Stock" with only minor Playing- or Usage-Marks.

I'm selling it, because I started playing Mandolin on December 2020, have bought and tried out an Ibanez 510E, a Fender F52E, this Ibanez 513 and could now gather a Breedlove Quartz OF (Handmade in Bend, Oregon, Full Solid).
The 510 and the FM52 are already sold and the Breedlove is a Keeper.

    Cheers: Steve

Pretty rare apparently. 513 is the model number for the ‘Jethro-style’ two point. Can’t find any reference to this model.

    Very cool.

What lawsuit? It really doesn't look like anything else except maybe Selmer Maccaferri style guitars.

    Sorry, Jim.

English is not my Mother Language.

It‘s from the Pre-Lawsuit-Phase of Ibanez. There are Tons of Informations about this Phase on the Internet. I don‘t see a Need to go deeper into this.

That this Model was produced from somewhere in the 70s to the very early 80s is a Fact which you can also find in the old Ibanez Catalogues.

    Hope this helps.

    Steve

Thanks for the clarification. It was from that era not the subject of a lawsuit. I do know what the lawsuits were about.
