I guess if you're a rich-as-Croesus rock star and can afford a rare, beautiful instrument like this, you can do what you want with it. Though in fairness, it's not clear whether it was already like that when he bought it or he had it painted. It's a pretty nice job, actually; I just question doing that to a fine vintage instrument.

Well, this white mandola is still kicking around Guitar Centers. It has been sold and returned a couple of times ... I don't know if that is because buyers were expecting a mandolin and got a dola, or if there is something else wrong with it.

Aaaaaaaaand someone at Guitar Center has finally figured out that this is a mandola, although they are now calling it an H4, which it certainly is not.
