    Default Help on TableEdit files

Hi I have a MacBook Pro with Catalina software.

I purchased the TableEdit software-lifetime. When I try to view , for example, " Bluegrass Special" tab, a download occurs to my documents, but opening it yields only gobbledygook

Anyone with a solution? input appreciated

I assume you are downloading Bluegrass Special from the Mandolin Cafe tabledit files folder. I downloaded both versions to my Windows PC and they opened fine. So at least I can say that the files themselves are OK.

The workaround this has always seemed to be that if you download it to your desktop first, then open it in the software, all is well. For some reasons these reports of this have been around for ages so what you've experienced is not unusual but oddly doesn't impact everyone.

Bluegrass Special was saved using TablEdit v3, which is not compatible with old versions of the software. If you are registered user, upgrade your software. If you are using the viewer, download a new copy of the viewer.

Thanks I’m not sure I follow.
    Which software should be upgraded?

    That would be TablEdit itself:

If you have never upgraded, you want to click on the Help menu and select "Check for Updates." The version I'm running is "3.00 a8" If you are running anything less than version 3.00, you need to click on the https://tabledit.com/secured/windows_e.shtml URL and download the latest version.

    P.S. I own a couple of Vettes too. I have a '72 and a '16. :-)

If you have not checked out the TablEdit list of files recently, you might want to check it out. I have updated a lot of files recently and more to follow soon.

If you have files you have transcribed, be sure to email them to me and help out other mandolin players. You can send them to mandolin.submission@gmail.com.
