Don I want in! As your new marketing director I've come up a new brand name. "Don's DISTRESSED CASES AND COVERS"! What the heck they up charge for dinging up the mandolins, so why not the case and cover. But wait there's more! Order the case and cover together and we'll throw in some Mandolin Cafe stickers too!
Offer valid in USA ONLY. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

All you folks who prefer hard, cold, sharp exteriors - I presume you've not spent much time traveling with/all scrunched-in small places with your cases..?

Puritans - you will not compromise your soul if you sell out for some earthly comforts! (if it's mando related)

I don't trust a case that isn't bashed to hell. The mando itself should show some life experience, too. (And relicking is NOT life experience!)

The only people I know here in the UK who use case covers are fiddle players, and they're all demented.

Speaking of which, I've never seen their mandolin case cover in real life, but for $275.00, it should at least glow in the dark or something.

I first met Keith Calton in 1976 and he made my last mandolin case a couple of years before he shut up shop. During that whole time, he never offered to make me, sell me or tell me I needed a case cover.

I got mine used in the classifieds so the $275 price tag does seem a bit steep. It was in mint condition so the original purchaser used it sparingly for sure!
The model I got does have the thinsulate lining, so while it may offer some protection for scratches I got it mainly for the thermal protective properties. I only ever use it on extremely cold or extremely hot days. I have had a $5k mandolin out in some heat in the mountains at a few festivals I would have never felt comfortable doing without the cover.
As I mentioned above on really cold days it keeps my mandolin from extreme temperature changes. I am fairly certain it has saved me from finish checking due to rapid temperature changes when I arrived at a gig late and didn’t have time to let my instrument acclimate. To be sure the number of times I have used it are few, but it does offer some peace of mind. Definitely not for everyone.
I should be pickin' rather than postin'

No baggie will float my Price case, you fall overboard with that and you’ll sink like the anchor. It also adds traction in the winter if placed at rear of vehicle.

ID:	193048 When I retired and closed up my shop for good,I went and spent more on an instrument I've ever spent and bought an awesome Gibson fern..but I never really cared that much for the stock case,so when Northfield came out with their Heirloom cases I bought one of those as an upgrade. The case is great no question, but the first thing I do with it is bounce it off some wall molding and put a big permanent white transfer mark across the top of it.this kind of pissed me off as I just unboxed the thing..well I remembered I had some cases in my cellar, among them a reproduction Loar case ,the Loar was solid mold on the inside due to some bad storage on my part, but it came with a reproduction case Cover that was in perfect shape,it fit the heirloom case pretty good,is olive canvas with leather corners and looks pretty vintage,,I use it so no further marring or damage will be done to the case,

That's a nice looking cover. All it needs now is some patches put on with fabric adhesive
How does it close up? Does it have a zipper?

Just think about it. You could have a case cover to cover the cover, a case cover, cover, a case cover, cover, cover and so on. When you get to the gig you can play pass the parcel and the one who gets the mandolin has to play it.
