My Loar 310F Mandolin has a truncated peg that (with enough force) pulls out of the hole. It appears it's just held in with a firm press into the hole. The peg is truncated slightly, and the hole slightly smaller than the thickest part of the peg.
The problem is, even when I press the peg all the way in, as far as it goes, it holds, but not near enough to where I feel comfortable. It feels like I am one wrong move away from it slipping out.
Does anyone have any recommendation on how to have a better set up? I thought about wrapping a piece of paper around the peg, essentially increasing it's diameter for a more snug fit?
Or a microscopic dab of glue. I don't plan on taking the pin off (only to replace the strap) but a small dab of glue can just pop off with a firm twist.
Any other tricks of the trade?
I was kind of hoping for some sort of threaded+screw mechanism but not in this price range I guess haha
