I've been using fender extra heavy teardrop shaped picks for 40 years and happy with them. Thinking about a BlueChip purchase for a test drive. Anyone know what thickness BlueChip might be close to the fender extra heavy thickness? Thanks!

Google says a extra heavy fender pick is 1.2 mm. 50/1000¨ is 1.25mm, so any of the blue chips with 50 in their name should be very close to the same thickness.
Check out the Apollo PEEK picks, I like mine more than my BC.

I have a TPR50 and a CT55. l like both. They are in the Heavy category I think. Sometime I prefer the rounded corner on the TPR50. And the Chris Thile is a little larger pick. Go on their website and check them out. I will say Blue Chip is hands down the best pick for tone and playability I ever had in my hands. I've probably tried em' all, lol. You wont be disappointed with one. They are awesome! EE
and you could test this teardrop also $5, it's a 1.5 mm https://v-picks.com/guitar-picks-%26.../the-nashville
I have had a BC in 35, 40, 50 and 60. I used them for a couple of years. I love how they glide off the strings, but I have found other picks that I like the sound of better and haven't used them now for a couple of years. Just started using one on guitar, but not on mandolin. I know some mandolins may sound good with them, but on several of mine I like other picks better for sound.
