    Default Twitter music?

So I finally broke down and joined Twitter, somewhat against my better judgment, mainly to gain access to the feed of a fellow scientist. As part of the sign-up process, Twitter asks you to select the genres of music that you like. They even provide the following list to make your selections (you may need to click on the picture if it's too small to read):

I was aghast. Note that no "other" category is listed. And evidently, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, BTS, and Beyonce all merit their own categories. But...

    No classical music!
    No jazz music!
    No blues music!
    No folk music!

    Also,

    No bluegrass
    No newgrass
    No oldtime
    No ragtime
    No Americana
    No Irish Traditional/Celtic music
    No choro
    No Gypsy jazz
    No gospel
    No Dawg
    No Cajun
    No Canadien/Metis/Cape Breton music
    No Neapolitan music
    No New Age
    No World Music
    No Renaissance/Baroque

We folks here on the Mandolin Cafe must be totally out of step with modern trends in music. Or, at least, I am...

i haven’t much a clue what half of those genres are. And what about jazz? No such thing?

Don't know twitter, but my thoughts are how exciting it's been to follow music - and how lucky I am that my adolescent years included Page's warm 12/6-string Gibson humming over tube amplifiers on Carouselambra

I call it the Great Romantic Analog-Electric period of music I remember when I started recognizing alienation - my older school-mate turned me on to Hunky Dory and Beefheart at age 11 or 12 -

There is the button labeled "music". I guess that's the catch-all for everything humans have come up with.

Country Music has it's own button? Of course they must be referring to that garbage on country radio these days. Rock and roll with cowboy hats, right GIRL! (Apparently every woman in a country song no longer has a first name). How many variations of pickup trucks, long neck bottles, and such can be repeated with a back round of electric guitars and drum kits blasting away? I stopped listening years ago.
Oh well nothing like a good rant to start my day! Guess I'll go have my oatmeal with sour milk, burn a bagel, and reheat yesterday's coffee. That will put in my normally chipper morning mood!

I tend to agree with Lady Gaga on this but apparently I enjoy spending time in the toilet as I still can't stay off Facebook or Twitter for any great length of time.
