Wow - love the playing and the new mando is stunning. Does it have the Schaller GrandTune machine heads, and if so, how are they?
The mini-Gretsch!
Aaron's little finger has its own postal code.
Sounds and looks great ~ wonderful playing!
Congratulations and enjoy it in good health.

Hi Aaron,
I just wish I could make my Apitius J Model sound 1/10th as good as you can.
I had Oliver build me a Lefty (his second lefty ever). I love the sound and looks
my best friend said mini-Gretch also. Oliver knocked this one out of the park
Keith
Honey, I shrunk the L-5 !!!
Keith,
Every time I pick up the instrument I'm dazzled by the sound AND I've never played a mando with a more comfortable neck. It's really thrilling. As for the look, I never thought about it as a Gretch. It reminds me more of a (mini) 1950's D'Angelico New Yorker. But it's its own thing for sure. And a good thing it is!!
Here's another video of Aaron playing his Yorkville we just posted on social media:
I just have to say that Oliver is the nicest guy I have ever dealt with.
Kept me informed with pictures and progress reports regularly. I am
going to have him build me another as soon as the wife recovers from
my MAS
Looks and sounds great Aaron! Many happy hours await.![]()

Aaron, thanks for sharing your “unboxing” of this mandolin with your inspiring-as-usual playing. (I’m on Oliver’s waiting list, not BECAUSE I want to play like Aaron, ... well, truthfully, because indeed I DO want to play like Aaron, and since that’s a pipe dream, maybe if I can have an ax like his ... perhaps start wearing a bow-tie... )
For those of us who care, please consider posting a photo of the backside of this blond beauty!
That mando sounds so good in your hands. We'll take more videos any time you want to post them.Enjoy!

I'm excited to hear you're on the wait list. I started discussing a mandolin with Oliver in the summer of 2019 so it's been a bit of a wait for me too. And I can happily report that it was very much worth it.
Per your request, I've attached a photo of the back.

Don, thanks so much! I plan to post more videos with the instrument so stay tuned.![]()
Aaron, I hope you don't mind me posting this from Oliver's web site.....

Beautiful mandolin! Wonderful playing!

A bunch of stuff with four strings
Oh, my! That's all I got. Oh, and, as usual your playing is ... sadly there is no chef's kiss emoji available.
Thanks for posting, great playing and showmanship!
That mandolin really has great proportions. If I am reading the builder’s website right, it looks like the demand is so high you have to wait to get on the waiting list.

Aaron,
What type of strings do you use on this lovely instrument?
Here's more info (and demonstration) about the mandolin, played acoustically and amplified.
