Que the banjo jokes. I've played the banjo since high school (in lieu of learning much of anything else) and I applaud the scholarship winners.
Breathlessly awaiting the scholarships for accordion, bodhran, spoons, kazoo...

Congrats to the scholarship winners - This board is amazing - knock another musician for the instrument they play. Then the grammar police. WOW. I'll be seeing ya!
"Grammar police?"
Please, friends. It is 2021.
We prefer to be called "grammarians."
Thank you.
Edited to add: Congratulations to the scholarship winners for both banjo AND mandolin players!
“Like winds and sunsets, wild things were taken for granted until progress began to do away with them. Now we face the question whether a still higher ‘standard of living’ is worth its cost in things natural, wild and free.” -- Aldo Leopold
Porque do you say "que" is "why" in Spanish when it is "what?"
And he meant "quit."
I applaud your noble sentiment, Hudmister. Unfortunately, you are here, and there is a context.
But I don't know why this has to be such a big deal. A banjo scholarship ain't worth fussing over. It's just a six-pack of chewin' tabacky and a tooth brush. Yes, not a teeth brush.
Indeed, sir. We not only prefer thus to be designated, we insist thereunto.

Well I meant queue as "tee up" the banjo jokes but I spelled it wrong. Like I said, I've played banjo since high school so a certain level of cognitive impairment is to be expected. I'm fairly sure I know more banjo jokes than anybody. I have been trying to rehab my brain with the mandolin for many years but mental decline from all those banjo years is obvious and I sure could have used a scholarship why back when. Tengas un buen dia, via con dios.
I play banjo, therefore I can tell banjo jokes. I think banjo players know more banjo jokes that most other folks.
THE WORLD IS A BETTER PLACE JUST FOR YOUR SMILE!
I sympathize with you, sir, for the suffering inflicted upon you over the years by spending so much time in close proximity to the death-dealing devil's device, and the derision from others. I appreciate your efforts to turn your life around, and wish you well in this Sisyphean struggle. But mostly I appreciate your good humor in all this, and your understanding and tongue-in-cheek acceptance of the scorn you've encountered hereabouts. I found the prevailing attitude around here a bit disconcerting when I first landed here many years ago, questioned it, and was informed of the generally genial nature of joshing prevalent between devotees of mandolins and that other ... thing. I found it odd, and still do, though I've gotten used to it, even had my share of fun with it. And I doubt it will end any time soon, or ever. Such is the nature of jokes.
