    Lovely job, Jo. Interesting set-up of the string courses - three double and a single. Are the tied-on frets spaced in semitones on this instrument?

    Thanks! The string arrangement is normal for these instruments - Gg cc ee a, like an 8-string ukulele (but pre-dating it by a few centuries). Yes, the frets are in semitones, like modern metal frets.
