Congratulations! I, too, went from an Eastman to a Collings MT. It’s a lifetime keeper. Play yours in good health!

That is one classy-looking mandolin. Could you maybe post a pic of the back? I'd love to see it.

It’s a Pomeroy, from Don Paine, modeled after a teens Gibson A-2, except this one is X-braced, and varnished.

…and I don’t know how to delete the second image…

Congrats Sheila & Mike - they both look beautiful!

There must be something in the air - I impulsively helped out Trevor at TAMCO with his retirement sale, and acquired this Old Wave A5. At the moment, still have the Eastman 505, which I still love, but the A5 is definitely a step or two up. One day I might even be worthy of it....! (the strap is now on the Old Wave, and I do have another McClung armrest coming for the OW)

For those who like to know, the specs are:
Lutz spruce top with red spruce spruce tone bar bracing, Varnum estate birdseye maple, 12" radius macassar ebony fretboard, pickguard, and peghead veneer, ivoroid celluloid binding, abalone position dots and wave inlay, 1 1/8 bison bone nut, grover tuners, dark buckskin lacquer finish over shellac.
    Old Wave A5, Eastman MD505

Enjoy your MT! I felt just the same when I acquired my MT2 and I'm still in love with it.
