Default The back and top join

I use a jointer plane to join by tops and backs, grain straight up as much as possible. My question is does any or has anyone tried to create the join with the glue line not parallel to the grain? Maybe a couple of degrees off to create a larger join? Just curious not something I feel like trying with my hand planes.
The grain represented by the lll and the slash the glue line.

Thanks for your patience with my crazy questions.

I don't see any advantage to this. You will gain tiny bit more gluing surface but not significant.
    of disadvantages I would mention
    - harder to joint either you have to plane both halves clamped together or measure two angles so they will match.
    - harder to clamp. the halves will want to slip even with HHG and will be hard to keep closed during drying.
    - the glued joint will not create straight line along top on on archtop.
    - unless the glue line is completely invisible it will show thicker when angled
But for me just the clamping problems would be enough not to do it. Restorers hate clamping angled cracks as well.

I use the joint line to align every other part of the mandolin. If it were at an angle, I'd go nuts.
