Ouch.
I sometimes get sucked into projects to get something playable again. Not even beginning to considering that one.

Looks like someone used it as an oar, Jo.

It doesn’t look like the tuning machines would merit the starting bid. I really want to know the back story on that one. Could be a case of a spouse who got tired of listening to their partner’s plinking away instead of doing housework and dunked it in a stoppered utility sink one night. At least that’s how I imagine this one played out.
"Well, I don't know much about bands but I do know you can't make a living selling big trombones, no sir. Mandolin picks, perhaps..."
My dear, departed father had an expression he used that covered things like this........"when you throw that thing in the trash, MAKE SURE you throw a dime in there with it -- that way you can at least say you threw away something!"

"IT CAME IN CONTACT WITH WATER IN A SMALL FLOOD...". Yup, "only" 5 or 6 inches based on the waterline going diagonally across the bowl.

"Then one day we weren't as young as before
Our mistakes weren't quite so easy to undo
But by all those roads, my friend, we've travelled down
I'm a better man for just the knowin' of you."

Floods have a lot of mud, muck and slimy grime. It would be a ton of work and not sure anything would stay glued after sucking all that into the wood.
