Default And another new A style mandolin

A new A mandolin with what I like to think of as Moderne style segmented sound holes, which went off to its new owner today. He wanted a slightly wider fingerboard - 33mm at the nut. Englemann spruce soundboard, Otways blackwood for the back, side and neck with an ebony fingerboard, solid bridge and head overlay. The blackwood has an almost opalescent figure which changes depending on the angle of the light (and hard to photograph). Ivoroid binding, an Allen tailpiece and Rubner tuners.

Your postings are like Christmas, Graham ... and someday I'll show my wishlist to my wife!

The aesthetics of this and the Art Deco A are just great (I loved the scoop in the segment between the soundholes on the Deco, it completed the whole picture). Thanks for posting.

Thank you for the kind words. Hopefully we can get back to Europe in the next year or two and then perhaps a glass of wine and a discussion about mandolins with you in Spain. You have to have something to look forward to.

A real work of art Graham. Very tastefully done. As I said in a previous post, I really like the fret markers.
