    Default D'Addario XS Strings

So D'Addario feels it is necessary to keep improving on their products, with an ever rising price point. Somehow I ended up with a set of their mandolin strings in the newest incarnation. They stabilized pretty quickly after installing but they feel coated and they are BRIGHT! I haven't been using either coated or D'Addario strings too much lately. I still wish they had the EXP74's but...

With only a short playing time, a couple of hours one them, the brightness is still there but we will see how and if they mellow. They also feel a bit more taut than the GHS A270's I took off.

No not XT, XS in the white package. But I see what you are getting at since I found nothing under the XS nomenclature.

I always like trying new strings, and if the XS line was available in 11.5-41 or 11.5-40, I'd give them a shot.
