    Default Gotoh Tuners

Does anyone know the difference between Gotoh GT-160-G-F and MF 40-F tuners? Both are gold tone and have MOP buttons. They look pretty much the same in the pictures. Thanks for any insight.

Look closely at the pictures. Looks like one set is "worm over" and the other set is "worm under".

The major difference between them is as John says Worm under vs Worm over. The Gotoh MF40 F tuner comes in both nickel and gold color and are worm over. The worm under Gotoh of the same tuner I've always seen are designated as MF40R and come in nickel and gold as well. They have pearloid buttons. Every place I can find the Gotoh GT-160-G F tuners is out of stock. maybe an older model number?
