    Smile Tuning Uke to GDAE--Success!

Success---acquired a set of Aquila Nylgut Uke strings (Soprano Fifths) and am now able to play with mando chords. They sound great and the E string holds its tuning. The scale length of the soprano Uke is the same or nearly the same as a mando and the generated tone is amazing. I am extremely pleased as I had difficulty finding a string that could endure the string tension on E.

Those strings have such a pleasant tone and feel. Four strings no worries! Bends and playing with fingers have been a fun experiment. The break in time is tedious. I began to wonder if they would ever stop stretching, especilaly the E. I have a set of Reds to try next.
Not a ukulele but I have some Nylgut sound clips in two albums on my profile page. The Mellowtone Mandolin and the vintage Mid Mo conversion.
