    Hi all,
I hope you can help me out. I got an old mandolin, a Cremona bowl back from Czechoslovakia. Since I am not playing, I would like to sell it because I think it is a missed opportunity of an instrument remains unplayed. However, I am clueless what the value is of such an instrument. Can anyone help me
with some ballpark figure? Photos are here: https://link.marktplaats.nl/m1704020477 Thanks so much!

I am afraid it is not worth much and was made in the 1970s most likely. Here is one made before WW2- so arguably more collectable- it made £100:

Here is one with a nasty crack for sale in Germany at 29 euros: https://www.ebay.de/itm/294049341117...AAAOSwf3pgQ43I

It's not really a "bowl-back," but what I've heard called a "boat-back," a dished back made of separate wide staves. These were common from mid-European makers.

If it's in good playable shape, $200-250 maybe?

Thanks both for your replies. It is still playable, although I think new strings would even improve the overall tone. Good to know it is a boat back, helps in doing some more research on the web.
