Thread: Tone Guard not staying in place

Default Tone Guard not staying in place

Over the years the arms seem to have lost some of their tension and Tone Guard winds up twisted around and half off the mandolin. I was about to grab a pair of pliers and just pull the arms tighter, but then I thought maybe I'd see if there might be a different solution out there. Thanks.

I have in the past bent the arms to fit different sized mandolins. Not something you should do every day, but don't see a problem now and then.

It’s called cold forging, aka bending. Good luck!
