Default Budget Mando, oval hole and fret access

    Hi!
I am looking for an oval hole mandolin for a folk project. I have a budget limit of around $1000. I have tried an Eastman, which i like - apart from the limited access to the upper frets.
So I am looking for advice regarding an instrument, that has oval-hole sound and access to the upper frets.
    Body shape is less important.

If you are looking for an oval with a longer neck join, then you might consider a used and American-made Breedlove OO like this one:

This one would work for a folk application at half your budget:

I saw that Redline last night and almost pounced, but we downsized a couple years ago and I’m trying not to build back up my arsenal (though I miss having an oval hole). Also, it’s in SC but over 4 hours from me, so I debated whether I’d pick up or have shipped...shouldn’t have slept on it. OP, did you snag that??? If so you got a good one!

It's very nice. I don't think this one has a truss rod? I can easily be mistaken though. I'm not sure I would be comfortable without an option of straightening the neck if needed.
