Default Sobell Gig Bag or carrying case

I have an older Sobell coming and would like to know if any of you favor a particular bag for general use rather than the heavy fiberglass case it comes in. thanks

I use a Reunion Blues gig bag for larger body mandolins. Very sturdy, well padded and protective.

Travelite cases are light but way more protective than a gig bag. Seems like they might be out of production though.

This Gator is similar and is easy to find.

I have the Gator and it feels nice and protective. Fits A or F styles.

I think you would have a difficult time finding a suitable gig bag for the Sobell. I have a Sobell mando (large-body) and I can't imagine any standard-size bag for mandolins working for mine because it is much wider and deeper than a standard mando (but I'd welcome any suggestions!). You might find one for a tenor banjo, octave mando or baritone uke that works with some tweaking, but I suggest checking them out in stores rather than getting one on line as it might not fit. The Reunion Blues bag, as suggested above, could be a good bet if the measurements work. It might be worth emailing Stefan Sobell in the UK to see if he has any suggestions -- he's very approachable. Welcome to the Sobell community!!

Post script: Out of curiosity, I googled Reunion Blues gig bag site for mandolin, and under mandolin it came up only for a banjo. So, it appears they are no longer available new. Too bad, I wouldn't mind one myself!

Reunion blues are great bags but I think the body width is 11 which is roomier than normal but probably not big enough for a Sobell (11.5 - 12.5?)

The Fusion is a good gig bag that has 11.8. Might work

You could modify a Taylor Aero or Gator banjo. Sweetwater lists detailed dimensions. You might need to modify the neck support to suit your scale length.

You could go all in with one of these makers. They will make sure if fits well but they aint cheap!

Rockbag might work if you can find one: https://shop.warwick.de/en/cases-bag...ndolin-gig-bag

I use it for my Taran which I think has similar dimensions to some Sobell mandos
