Question recorded tunes for turlough O'carloan music posted on the forum

I recently came across these arrangements and tried to play a little. I cannot really play by reading sheet music and would be grateful if i can find these arrangements recorded somewhere to be able to learn them.

I think, as the author has said, these tunes are unique and from the little that I could play from the sheet, I am motivated to learn these tunes.

    any help is appreciated, thanks!

PS : sorry for the typo in the composer's name - Turlough O'Carolan

He was the great harpist who left much wonderful music behind. Yes, there are loads of O’Carolan tunes done here, on video and usually with ABC and/or TAB as well as SN. You’ll find them in the Song A Week social group here at the cafe.

Easiest way may be to go to advanced search, check to search in groups, and search the title of any you’re interested in.

    Hi,

I’m a great O’Carolan fan. My favourite source for how to play the tunes on mandolin is David Hansen on YouTube. He is a member here and a wonderful player. He probably has videos up on most O’Carolan stuff.

Another good source on You Tube is Kansas Mando. These are the Cafe organiser Scott Tichenor playing most of the tunes together with Bill Crahan on guitar. They were his tabs you highlighted, I believe.

Finally, check out Butch Baldassari. He has an album specifically of O’Carolan. He is a greatly missed player.

    Regards,
