Default Reeltime Travelers: Has Their First Album Vanished?

One of my favorite old time string bands was The Reeltime Travelers, which, sadly, disbanded a few years back. Their wonderful second album is readily available and is also on Spotify, but their first one is very hard, if not impossible, to find. The title of the first album was Reeltime Oldtime String Band Music and it was released on the Yodel-Ay-Hee label, which I think is or was a Canadian label. I can't help but thing that somewhere, somehow, this CD is available for sale. The band was just too good and too popular in string band circles. Anybody know of one for sale?

Also: are the musicians who comprised that group still performing?

    Thanks for your help.

I would try to track down one of the members online and ask about purchasing a copy.

    I've seen Martha Scanlan perform.

Martha is still out there. Roy Andrade is on staff at ETSU and can be seen sometimes on the ETV show Song of the Mountains with the bluegrass and old time bands from the school. Can't think of the fiddler's name but she put out a CD ten years back or so. That's the way it is in a working musician's life. It is not all glitz and glory or even keeping the library full. CDs are not worth much and once copied they are essentially free to anyone who has access. These are harder times than when I was coming along. Fewer gigs, more driving and product does not reap the rewards it once did. Music is everywhere and easily accessed. Royalties are .000% of what they were at one time. This is where i say, "Glad I'm old".

Sweetwater Music appears to have the group's first CD for sale:

    Good luck with it.

Hi Rick. Is Sweetwater Music the same "Sweetwater" that sells instruments, etc? Or is somebody else on that site selling it? I see the present asking price is $200. A former offering of the CD apparently sold for $40. (I'd probably do the $40, but not the $200)

Hello again, Rick. I looked at that link you sent to me and I can't find any reference to Sweetwater Music on the link, only a private seller. Thanks again for your help with this.

I got to that link through Sweetwater Music's page, so it appears you are right -- sorry. I'd never pay $200 for a CD, either.

I would think, though, that if a CD could command a price of $200 (or even $40), some businessman might be motivated to start offering it for sale.
