I have had this song in my head since I was a little kid. I had no idea that was the name! Love it!

If you lived in the metro NYC area (NY/NJ/CT) in the '60s and ever heard a radio, your head would instantly go to:

    "A bargain's a bargain at John's Bargain Store
You get more of a bargain than ever before ..."

From what I can see now, various places are using the name; can't tell if any have commandeered the tune.

"Then one day we weren't as young as before
Our mistakes weren't quite so easy to undo
But by all those roads, my friend, we've travelled down
I'm a better man for just the knowin' of you."

Kinda like Burgermeister beer using the Beer Barrel Polka with new lyrics on their ads in the same period.

pluckinstrings: Not bad, but it's usually played at about 126 bpm, and you're around 88. I wonder if you could get it up to speed by alternating the pick throughout. That is dud udu dud udu. Worth a try!

One of my favorite up-to-speed versions of this tune is the video from Jonathan Jeffries, he adds some harmonizations
