Default Compare these 2 mandolin sound samples

I recorded these sound samples today from 2 different mandolins, and I would love to hear your thoughts on Mandolin A vs Mandolin B. Both are set up with J74s, but the strings on A are newer. Same pick and recording setup for both. I recorded a fiddle tune, chop chords in G, A and Bb, some open chords, and an instrumental break in the key of F.

    Cheers,

    Hi,

    For what it’s worth, I preferred A.

I couldn’t detect a difference, but my available headphones are not good.

A seemed much brighter to my ears. I liked it more too.

Agreed. Though I don't always go for brighter, in this case I preferred it.

A sounded a little brighter. Could just be the string age difference. Other than that they sounded very similar to me. Were they different models?

    I thought both sounded good.

I thought A had a nicer tone for melodies. Both chop well.

B has more of what I prefer, mid-range and depth of tone. A is brighter and more crisp, but just not my preference.
