Any body use fred kelly picks?
Any body use fred kelly picks?
For a long time, I used Fred Kelly polycarbonate baby picks. I had a white one that I bought from a strolling pick vendor at a bluegrass festival, and used it so long that the end lost it's point.
But everything I hold in or wear on my hand starts to feel wrong after a while. I've switched to Dunlop Primetones of various sorts, for the moment anyway.

Thanks for the input. Just trying something new. I've had problems using the traditional type picks. I'll try the Dunlop primetones! Thanks!
D.H., would you recommend the semi round or sculpted plectra in the Dunlop?

I'll put some links in to Elderly's listing, so you can see them.
At the moment, I'm using this kind a lot: https://www.elderly.com/collections/...tone-pick-pack
Or sometimes, this type feels better: https://www.elderly.com/collections/...ctra-pk514-150
Both kinds have textured grip surfaces, a feature that I like. The rounded corners on the second type seem, to me at least, to make tremolo easier. Why such different types should both be called Primetone is a mystery to me.

I'll check it out DH, thanks!
Here's a thread I recently started in the equipment section on picks: https://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/t...and-pick-noise. There's an interesting video in there comparing popular mandolin picks across a range of prices.
TL;DR: I'm enjoying the Dunlop 513P1.4 picks quite alot.
