Default Broken Gibson A mandolin- 1903

As that earlier auction for the late 20s Gibson mandolin has been closed, here is another. This mandolin fell off the wall it appears- did it jump or was it pushed? Crime scene detectives can see the outcome here:

Is there any evidence for it having been beaten half to death by a scorned woman with a fire poker?

Bid around $300 now; at what point does it stop making sense to buy and have it repaired?

You get a pretty rare early Gibson after restoration.

Besides the headstock/neck separation, the fractures/crack alongside the fingerboard extension into the sound-hole would be a challenge.

Wow, that’s painful to look at! I’m always sorry when I see this kind of accident.

It looks to me like it fell straight onto its head. I bet the whole story involves human intervention.

Well, I’ve seen just the pineapple tailpiece for sale here, on eBay, and Reverb for upwards of $250…there may be enough salvageable for $300.
