Recently, I discovered a google feature with which I can take a photo of something and google will identify it.
Is there a similar app that can search for music identification?

Shazam does this. I have never used it, so I can't tell you how good it works or how large a dataset it works on.
Shazam is good with pop/rock; less good with other genres.

There is an app comes with most iphones that does this. Any piece of music played, the app identifies it, and the artist and record label.
It only works on recorded commercial music. It is recognizing the recording, not the tune itself.
There is an online web site and phone app called TunePal designed to identify "traditional Irish, Welsh, Scottish, Breton, American marching band and Canadian tunes."
It won't work with full recorded band music, but you can play your instrument into it, or have it listen to a recording where a single instrument is prominent, and it will often find the tune name. Or at least a list for narrowing it down. Works better with sustaining instruments like fiddles, but I've had occasional success with mandolin played into the phone app: https://tunepal.org/
On my Android phone, it's just Google. I hit the voice search and ask "What's this song?"
Most of the time, I get the result (I *do* search a lot of obscure stuff playing on little college stations)
