Default Al Capone's Waltz on Peter Coombe Classical Flattop

My mandolin here is Peter Coombe #248 (separate thread elsewhere). Tune is from Sweden and was supposedly played for Al Capone repeatedly in Chicago. The source insisted he played this for Mr. Capone when he worked as an ice delivery boy. Anyway, it's a nice 3 part waltz.

Nice mandolin and nice Swedish waltz! Does the waltz have another name?

    Very nice, Eric!

I have just had a look online for this tune and see that there is a transcription complete with harmony as played by Paul Wilson, with an accompanying note on the origin and name of the tune here: Link

The same transcription is also at spillefolk.dk -- one of my favourite music sites: Link. However, although they mention a harmony part, it does not appear to have been included in the Spillefolk upload.

Very nice tune. Are you from Denmark? I like the country and its music. I live less than 100 m from the danish border.

Thanks. Not sure if the tune has another name. That's the only title I know. I learned it from Paul and a couple of other people, along with the sheet music from spillefolk.dk (Had the sheet music, not sure where it was from). Had not seen the harmony version before. That's good.

Am in Minnesota, USA. not in Denmark. Although I have jammed with some Danish musicians. And do like playing Danish music.

Maybe you could have had danish roots. Okay.

Based on a hint on Eric’s YouTube channel I found the Bil Bol Vals recorded in 1918 and played by Sundquist and Berg. https://archive.org/details/78_bil-b...g_gbia0310777a
