Default Soon to make my first Mandolin

    Hello,
I will soon begin a project of building my first mandolin. It will be the Gibson Army/Navy style. I use mostly hand tools (I do have a drill press and table saw.)
Any suggestions or advice will be appreciated, as I am truly a novice!
Eager to hear from any and all.

Get Graham Macdonald's book the Mandolin Project if you have not already.

+1 on the Graham MacDonald book, it's a great resource. Measure twice, cut once. Dry fit and test clamp everything before you glue. Take your time with the finishing details. You can do this! Enjoy!

I built my first one out of scrap wood to get the feel of cutting, bending, alignment, and gluing and to see what tools I would need.
