    Default Stanley Lorton Flat top

Anone have one of these? I have jsut received a Stanley Lorton "all Koa" Flat top and iam nto my 48 hour approval. I love the way it looks and was exspecting a strong, mellow tone, but at present it seems very thin and not mellow. May be the strings I contacted the seller and he said I could change the strings, so I plan on putting a set of GHD LSB 250's on it to see if it wakes up. I would sure love to talk with anyone who has a Stanley Lorton Flat top to get their inpression of theirs.. But it is really is a "looker" if you like KOA and I do, this one is entirely KOA. I ssurey hope I can get the sound to come close to the looks. Blessings,

Most of my koa experience is in guitars, and all-koa guitars have all sounded brittle to me

Koa definitely is beautiful. But the Martin-made koa mandos sound muffled to me.
