    Default Strap Button Washer

Grolsch-style rubber washers are great for holding leather straps to a guitar strap button, but they're too big in every dimension (especially thickness) to fit well on a mandolin strap button. Landed on these cheap neoprene washers (7/8" OD X 3/8" ID X 1/16" thick) which work perfectly on a mandolin. Nothing earth shaking but it has improved my mandolin life, maybe it would yours too.

They are great and cheap. I use these washers on all my mando straps. However new fangled water taps (faucets to you) may lead to their extinction, so panic buy now!

Where do you get them? Home Depot or Loews? In the plumbing department, I would assume.

The Fender Strap Blocks Strap Locking System isn't very durable. Two of the red washers split in just a few months. Strongly recommend a pass on these.

This particular size isn't real common, doubtful the big box stores would have them. I got them from a seller on eBay. Just search "7/8 OD X 3/8 ID X 1/16 thick" and you'll find them. Re the Fender Strap Blocks, the whole point of my post is that those (and similar ones) are too big for most mandolin strap buttons—especially in the thickness and the center hole dimensions.

ACE Hardware has a good supply. I posted one a while back.
