I'm expecting my new mandola from Austin Clark to arrive soon so thought I would get my Eastman 815 ready to sell. I've been using flat wound strings from emando for a few years but figured phosphor bronze would be more appealing to most folks. I decided on the D'Addario phosphor bronze flat tops ($23.00). I put them on yesterday and was blown away by the punch these strings gave the Eastman. In the past I avoided phosphor bronze as I thought they sounded a bit twangy but these guys sound great.
So I believe I'll keep the Eastman. Can't hurt to have two mandolas
