Thread: Unknown mandolin/mandola pair

    Default Unknown mandolin/mandola pair

I bought these as a mandolin/mandola matched set from someone who bought them from an estate sale, so very little knowledge. I was told they are believed to have been handmade somewhere in Tennessee or Kentucky, but I would not put too much stock in that suggestion.

Both have a distinctive leaf/bird cutout, which seems like it might be a clue. Overall body shapes seem a little odd to me, but I don't have enough knowledge to really be able to judge that.

Any help with ID and any other background would be much appreciated!
