Default 2006 Collings MF: missing tuner button screw

Hi: I'm making repairs to a customer's Collings MF. I believe it dates to 2006, and I think it has Gotoh tuners. One of the tuner button retaining screws is missing. Anyone know where I can easily source a replacement? I have already contacted Collings.

    Thanks!

I just dug through my drawer and I have a scrap set of gold tuners but not nickel. Sorry about that!

Maybe the gold plating can be lightly sanded off to look close enough to nickel. Just a thought...

Andrew, sent you a PM. Gold will work for now! Gotoh makes wonderful tuners: why must it be so difficult(read impossible) to contact them for issues like this?

The size of the screw that Gotoh uses is M2.3x10. Good luck on finding those.

There is an SAE equivalent that is close enough that I use them. That is #2-64 x 3/8. I was able to find those in stainless in a round head slot drive configuration at Fastenal. The price of the shipping will kill you but they had them.

Thanks Mike for that screw size info.

My customer picked up his Collings, and almost immediately noticed I'd replaced the missing screw, and said it had been missing for years: he was very glad to see it in place....I thought maybe I had lost it, while spinning the tuners to remove the strings. I was glad I had on hand a new set of Gotohs, from which to steal a screw!
