Default G. Manente, "Rêverie de Poete”: Providence Mandolin Orchestra

Giuseppe Manente’s (1867-1941) “Rêverie de Poete” is a classic work from the “Golden Age” of the mandolin in early twentieth century Italy. This performance by the Providence Mandolin Orchestra (PMO) was made for the virtual open mic at the Classical Mandolin Society of America’s “Convention in the Clouds” (November 12-14, 2021). The PMO is directed by Mark Davis. First mandolins are Lynne Bell, Chris Chito, Mark Davis, Michael J. Raymond, Jr, and John Rufo. Second mandolins are Mark Chuoke, Marcie Glicksman, and Paul Wilde. Gayle Raposa plays mandola in C (CGDA) and yours truly (Robert Margo) is on mandola in G (octave). The classical guitar section is Mark Armstrong, Beverly Davis, and James Macartney. Olivier Reid is the mandocellist, and Hiatt Knapp is on bass.
